Actually the corvette HMS ROYALIST should be shown, she was present when the U,K, took possession of Tuvalu 100 years ago, she is depict on a stamp of Tuvalu of 45c issued in 1981 sg 166.
The stamp issued by Tuvalu for the 100th Anniversary of British occupation in Tuvalu 1892 – 1992 shows us the cruiser HMS ROYALIST according Log Book, commissioned in 1915, and which never has been at the island.
Comparing photos of the ship with the stamp, I believe another ship is depict, the cruiser of 1915 has three funnels, one mast and also the bow was different?
