Bornholm (2) was built in 1961 by Burmeister & Wain, for the Bornholm company and is registered at Ronne, entering service between Copenhagen-Rønne. 4895grt - 98m long - 1500 passengers (later 1800) - 333 berths (later 493) - 16.5 knots. In 1963 she was chartered for a round trip from Southampton to Tristan da Cunha to return the main body of passengers displaced by the eruption of the volcano. Besides the passengers, the Danish ship carried 200 tons of stores and equipment, including an X-ray machine, a prefabricated building to replace their old general store, supplies of potatoes, Scotch gin, chickens, a stock of Communion wine and six sheepdogs.
In 1965 and 1969 Bornholm was rebuilt to increase accommodation, berths rising from 333 to 493. She was replaced in 1978 by the Povl Anker and sold to Chinese owners. She served in the Far East as Min Zhu and Pu Tuo Shan, until broken up in 2001.

Built in 1961 under yard no 780 as a ferry by the yard of Burmeister & Wain, København, Denmark for the A/S Dampskibsselsskabet på Bornholm af 1866 at Rønne, Denmark.
Launched under the name BORNHOLM.
Tonnage 4.933 gross. Dim. 98 x 15.7 x 4.3m. (draught)
Powered by an 8 cyl. B&W diesel, 4.600 bhp. speed 16½ knots.
Passenger capacity for 333 in one, two and three-berth cabins, and there was room for 593 unberthed passengers.
Capacity for 78 cars in a drive in/of garage.

Used for the night service between Rønne on the island Bornholm and Copenhagen.
1963 Chartered by the British Government to repatriate the main body of the islanders of Tristan da Cunha in England back to their island.
24 Oct. 1963 sailed from London and arrived in Nov. on the island. She took also 200 tons of stores and equipment including X-Ray machine and pre-fabricated buildings to replace the old general store, six sheepdogs and a stock of communion wine.
1973 Transferred to A/S Bornholms Trafikken, gross tonnage changed to 4.895 gross tons.
1980 Sold to China Ocean Shipping Co., China, renamed MIN ZHUI.
1987 Renamed in PU TU SHAN.
2001 Broken up.
