BRILLIANCE OF THE SEAS cruise vessel

Built as a passenger's vessel under yard No 656 by the Meyer Werft, Papenburg, Germany for Halifax Leasing September,(Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd), Bahamas.
31 May 2002 floated out as BRILLIANCE OF THE SEAS one of the Radiance class.
Tonnage 90.090 grt, 53.812 net, 10.759 dwt., dim. 292 x 39.8 x 11.5m., draught 8.5m., length bpp. 263.5m.
Powered by two General Electric Marine-Fincantieri gas turbines, 57.400kW., twin azimuthing pods, speed 24 knots.
Three bow-thrusters.
Accommodation for 2.501 passengers and 859 crew.
05-07 2002 delivered to owners. The building cost US$ 350 million.
Homeport Nassau, Bahamas.

The ship is vibration-free due to the gas turbines and fitted out with a miniature golf course, rock climbing wall, jogging track two self-leveling pool tables etc.

13 July 2002 christened in Harwich, the U.K. by Mrs. Marilyn Ofer the wife of Eyal Ofer a member of the Royal Caribbean’s Board of Directors.
15 July 2002 sailed from Harwich on a seven-night maiden voyage to the Norwegian fjords, which will be followed by a series of 12-night cruises from Harwich to the British Islands, Norway fjords, Baltic and Russia.
5 July 2005 a passenger disappeared when the vessel was underway on a cruise to Turkey, it was suggested that foul play was involved.

2022 In service, IMO No 9195200.
